NAGA Munchetty addressed criticism she has faced for her outfit choices on BBC Breakfast.

In fact, Naga admitted she has taken viewers’ critiques to heart on multiple occasions during her stint on BBC Breakfast.

She joined the programme in 2014, completing a wider team which then included Louise Minchin and the late Bill Turnbull, in addition to Naga's regular co-presenter Charlie Stayt.

Sharing the pressures of being a female presenter and facing scrutiny over her clothing, Naga revealed: “There’s only one time I’ve taken it on board and never worn an outfit again. “One and a half.

“The first time, I wore this dress on Breakfast and it had a geometric print and two people said it was causing them migraines, so I said, ‘absolutely fine, I won’t wear that again’”.

In addition, Naga shared one of her favourite clothing selections had to make less appearances after it ‘scared’ viewers.

She said: “There was another one, I bought this brilliant dress. I still have it, this was about ten or 12 years ago.

“It was black and had all these eyes on it.

“Two people emailed in saying it was scaring them and giving them nightmares.

“That worn I have worn since, but I haven’t worn it as much.”

It comes following a recent incident in which Naga was criticised by BBC Breakfast viewers for spitting out food during a cooking demonstration.

Naga and fellow presenter Charlie Stayt were joined by Dr Ralph Munders, a professor from Surrey University, who is responsible for a study looking into the positive effects eating insects can have for the human body.

In the demonstration, Naga and Charlie were served up two muffins, one regular and one bug infested bake.

While Charlie seemed to enjoy the experiment and munched away, Naga took just one bite of the insect muffin before pulling a face and spitting the mouthful onto her plate.

She attempted to discreetly hide it with a tissue but viewers were left appalled.

One viewer hit out: “She was plain rude. Clearly someone in her ear told her off.”

Another wrote: "By the look of Naga's face, those muffins taste as bad as we'd predicted lol."

A third chimed in: “Both of those muffins on BBC Breakfast look rank and Naga just confirmed they're bad. It's a no from me.”
