A number of residents have been evacuated after a huge fire broke out, spewing out smoke which can be seen for miles.
The alarm was raised in Manchester at around 5pm today, with crews from several areas joining the incident. No one is currently believed to have been injured in the incident.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “Shortly after 5pm today (Tuesday, 4 June), five fire engines from Withington, Manchester Central, Blackley, Gorton and Whitehill fire stations were called to attend a flat fire on Totland Close, Manchester.
“Crews arrived quickly and used six breathing apparatus and three hose reels to extinguish the fire. Firefighters remain at the scene at this time.”
Police and paramedics are also at the scene, says Manchester Evening News.
