CHOCOHOLICS rejoice – Yorkie is the newest choccy pudding on the block, with a brand new creamy mousse now in stores.
It is the latest in a long line of sweet-based desserts trying to encourage you to part with your cash.
Whatever your favourite bar, from Wispa to Aero and Toblerone to After Eight, you can find a pud in a pot to match.
But do they taste as good as your favourite chocolate bar treat?
We asked Lynsey Hope to give her verdict, with scores out of five.

Cadbury Wispa Pudding
£2 (4 x 45g)
THESE tasted very similar to the Aero pudding, but you pay a bit more for Cadbury.
It had the same bubbly texture. Nice, but I’m not sure it really tasted like a Wispa.
Given the choice I would prefer the chocolate bar.
Definitely a healthier option though – these were much lower in fat and sugar than many of the others, which is a plus if buying for kids.
They are good value too, coming in at 50p a pot. However, it was the smallest dessert in our test.

Yorkie Milk Chocolate Dessert
£1.85 (2 x 65g)
IT’S quite a small pot for the price, coming to just over 92p each in a pack.
But it definitely packs the flavour of Yorkie chocolate and is very creamy, smooth and quite satisfying to eat.

The main ingredient is skimmed milk, which makes up 71 per cent, and there is a slight hint of vanilla.
Overall, I really enjoyed these. Not the worst for sugar content or salt either.

After Eight Mousse
£2.50 (4 x 57g)
I’M a huge fan of After Eight so was excited to try these but felt a little let down.
It did have the exact same minty flavour but the white mousse was very airy. It looked like fluffy egg whites and I didn’t really enjoy it.
The dark chocolate was crisp, delicious and minty but there wasn’t enough of it so really it felt like eating a minty spoonful of cloud. Shame.

Cadbury Flake Chocolate Dessert
£1.15 (1 x 75g)
I REALLY enjoyed this dessert but there is not too much to it, just a few crumbly bits of flake and a few spoonfuls of creamy, melted chocolate.
Taste-wise you can’t really go wrong but I would have expected a bit more for the money.
Look out for these on offer as they aren’t really worth £1.15 each.
Lovely, but just too expensive.

Aero Bubbly Mousse
(£1.50 (4 x 59g)
WITH a lovely light, fluffy texture, these Aero mousses have a pleasant chocolatey taste.
You can feel those bubbly bits of chocolate melt in the mouth with each spoonful. And there are no artificial colourings, flavourings or preservatives which is always good.
These are quite high in sugar – more so than the Wispa, Yorkie and Milky Bar puds, so perhaps better saved as an occasional treat.

Rolo Chocolate and Toffee
£2.50 (4 x 65g)
THESE faithfully recreate the classic Rolo taste and the toffee layer is melt-in-the-mouth delicious.
The chocolate is perhaps a little more bitter than the original choc.
I found these incredibly more-ish and the kids loved them too. We will definitely be buying more.
They weren’t as good value as some others, working out at 62.5p per pud, but taste-wise they definitely hit the spot.

Dairy Milk Chocolate Pots of Joy
£2.70 (4 x 60g)
WITH its silky smooth texture, this Dairy Milk dessert is wonderfully glossy.
The whipped cream makes it less sickly and gives the chocolate a lighter feel. The original flavour is spot on – and there is definitely something about Cadbury’s choc.
They aren’t the cheapest, working out at 67.5p each, and the pots were smaller than many of the others.
But they were very yummy and went down a storm with the kids.

Milky Bar White Chocolate
£1.50 (4 x 65g)
ONE spoonful took me straight back to my childhood.
These are very light, airy and creamy, with a delicious flavour.
White chocolate makes up around ten per cent of the ingredients, which is more than most, but I still would have liked a stronger chocolate taste.
The texture was good, though, and the aroma was very appealing.
There is something delightfully pleasurable about eating these.
