If you thought Greggs and pregnancy reveals don't go hand-in-hand, think again.

When announcing a pregnancy, what comes to mind? Perhaps it's setting off gender reveal balloons or throwing a big bash for friends or family.

But one couple took a whole new approach to discussing their big news, by centring it all around Britain's beloved bakery chain, Greggs. Bonnie Lou, who claimed she was precisely four weeks and six days away from giving birth, took to TikTok to show off her bump while wearing a hilarious blue sash.

'Preggs', it read, in the familiar logo font of the sausage roll aficionados. Standing with her partner, she said (@bonnielou1301): "Couldn't ask for a better man to be starting a family with," before leaning in for a kiss.

Although this wasn't the couple's first pregnancy themed video, it stirred up quite the reaction on TikTok, with various users in hysterics over the play on Greggs. One person wrote: "Sorry that preggs sash is iconic," as others chimed in: ""PREGGS" IS KILLING ME I LOVE IT," and: "This is so funny hahahaha congratulations."

Some even confessed they were desperate to get their hands on a Preggs sash themselves, with one writing: "I’m getting a Preggs sash when we have a baby." Another added: "What ye calling the baby? steaky? bakey? yumyum? Outstanding patter with that sash."

While Bonnie and her partner were certainly bold to wear a Preggs sash, they aren't the first to take an unconventional approach to pregnancy on social media. Last year, a MirrorOnline piece reported that one woman baked a cake to reveal the gender of her baby on an intimate date with her husband.

In the video, uploaded to TikTok (@elyssajoy_), the mother could be heard counting down from three, before cutting into a cake to see which colour filling was inside – pink for girl, blue for boy.

However, Elyssa said she'd 'forgotten about colour theory' while baking this, with her confused husband asking: "Green?". Heartbroken Elyssa then said: "It's not supposed to be green."
