Cleaning expert Mariya Gurkova at Fantastic Services shared how she avoids ironing with her tips.

Instead, she opts for common household items that work just as well.

One money-saving technique involves nothing more than taking a hot shower.

"Taking a hot shower while hanging wrinkled garments in the bathroom will help them smooth out naturally as the steam penetrates the fabric fibers and makes them more pliable," she explained.

"An alternative to the steam from a shower is a tea kettle, boil the water and hang the clothing a foot away from the steam."

Another household device that helps remove wrinkles is a dehumidifier.

"Dehumidifiers can also reduce wrinkles in clothing indirectly as they remove excess moisture from the air. However, steam is more effective," Gurkova added.

One option, she said, is to remove wrinkles altogether as the first step of the drying process.

"The drying process after washing clothes can also be assisted by fans to reduce wrinkles as they promote airflow in clothes, helping them dry quickly and evenly," she said.

To aid in removing wrinkles, the expert shared a recipe for a quick and easy anti-wrinkle spray.

"Using anti-wrinkle spray in conjunction with these other techniques can relax the fabric more, resulting in the spray being more effective for removing wrinkles," she explained.

“Simple household ingredients such as vinegar and water mixed in a spray bottle can make wrinkle-removing spray.”

For those without access to an iron, Gurkova shared other makeshift solutions using common household items.

"Put the wrinkled item in the dryer with a damp towel or a few ice cubes and run it on medium heat for about 15 minutes," she said.

You can also use a hair dryer to remove last-minute wrinkles. Simply dampen the wrinkled area of the garment with water or a wrinkle-removing spray.

"Steam will be generated inside the dryer by the moisture from the towel or ice cubes, which will help loosen the wrinkles and smooth out the fabric. When dried, fold immediately to avoid ironing."

Those who need smooth, wrinkle-free clothes but have no time to spare can turn to a hair dryer for help.

“You can also use a hair dryer to remove last-minute wrinkles. Simply dampen the wrinkled area of the garment with water or a wrinkle-removing spray," she said.

"Use the lowest setting and pull the fabric taut when drying. Hair flat irons can help remove creases from small sections of clothing.

“A hot cooking pot can also be used, boil water in a medium-sized pot and pour it out once it's hot.

"After pressing and smoothing out the wrinkles in your fabric, carefully use the bottom of the hot pot as you cool it down rapidly.”
