The family of a gran allegedly murdered in a park have paid tribute to a "generous and beautiful lady".

Beloved grandmother Lorna England, 74, who was described as a 'pillar of her community,' died following an alleged attack in Ludwell Valley Park in Exeter, Devon, on Saturday afternoon.

Paying tribute to Mrs England, her family said: "On Saturday 18 February, our beloved wife, mum, grandma and sister, Lorna England was tragically and suddenly taken away from us.

"Lorna was the kindest, most generous and beautiful loving lady. Her energy and zest for life was infectious. As a family we are heartbroken by her death.

"She meant the world to us. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for all the support, kind words and sympathy we have received."

After her death Lorna was described as a "pillar of the community" by neighbours.

Earlier tributes poured in for Ms England, of Exeter, who police say was not known to her alleged attacker.

One neighbour said: "She is one of those people who would have lived here forever.

"She was just a really nice lady."

Devon and Cornwall Police has created a Major Incident Public Reporting (MIPP) page as part of the investigation into the incident, allowing the public who may have information to directly send large files such as Doorbell, CCTV and Dashcam footage.

Anyone with any information is asked to report this to Devon and Cornwall Police via the Major Incident Public Reporting site, under Operation Finnart.
