Olivia Henson is the new Duchess of Westminster - and her wedding dress certainly lived up to her new title.

The 31-year-old, who works in the sustainable food and drinks industry, married billionaire aristocrat Hugh Grosvenor, 33, at Chester Cathedral this afternoon. He is the 7th Duke of Westminster and one of the UK's richest men, boasting a fortune of £10.1 billion.

For the celebrations, Olivia wore a dress and veil designed by Emma Victoria Payne - and the stunning look included a few hidden details as a nod to her family.

The dress featured an embroidery design which incorporated floral motifs and edgings from Ms Henson’s great-great-grandmother’s veil from around 1880.

But bringing her husband's traditions into her look, she also wore the Grosvenor family tiara - the Faberge Myrtle Leaf Tiara. It was made in Fabergé’s workshops by Albert Holmström back in 1906, after being commissioned for Lord Hugh Grosvenor's wedding to Lady Mabel Crichton.

Holmström also made several of the most famous Fabergé eggs - including the Mosaic Egg which is now owned by the Royal Collection.

According to The Court Jeweller, the design represents the classic shape of a wreath of leaves

Olivia also broke from tradition by wearing bright blue block shoes with a statement bow.

Thousands of well-wishers turned out to see the happy couple in Chester today, and the newlyweds have tried to include the community in their big day. They tried to use as many local suppliers as possible and have arranged for flowers used in the ceremony to be turned into bouquets which will be delivered to charities and organisations.

A spokesman for the duke and Ms Henson said: “This is an incredibly special day for the Duke and Miss Henson and they are very much looking forward to the service.

“It means a lot to them to marry in Chester Cathedral, especially given the Grosvenor family’s long and close personal connection to both the Cathedral and the city of Chester.

“The couple have also been moved by the messages of support they have received from around the region and are hugely grateful that people want to share in their happiness.”

The spokesperson added: “The Duke and Miss Henson have taken a great deal of care in planning the wedding, putting their own personal stamp on all the arrangements and have made a conscious effort to involve local and regional suppliers in several aspects of the day.”
