TEMPLEGATE takes on Monday's action looking for winners.

HOSTELRY (4.55 Carlisle, nap)

Ruth Carr’s mare has been in fine form this season, kicking off with a win at Thirsk before hitting the frame at Ripon and Pontefract last time out. The booking of Joanna Mason is a plus and she finished like a train over a mile latest so today’s extra furlong should be right up her street.

NAASMA (8.40 Windsor, nb)

Pat Phelan’s five-year-old is a model of consistency and she kicked off this campaign with a battling win over today’s course and distance in April. She followed that up with a close second in hotter company at Newbury last time and she’s only 1lb higher here.

ESMERAY (7.30 Pontefract, treble)

She got up on the line to score on turf at Lingfield last time out. The horse she edged out at Leafy has since won a hot contest at York and a 2lb rise in the weights looks more than lenient. Trainer Ralph Beckett steps her up in distance here but she gives the impression that will be no problem and there’s more to come.

MINSTREL KNIGHT (3.20 Carlisle)

He completes the Lucky 15. He has yet to run a bad race for in-form Ed Bethell and was right on the premises again at Pontefract 17 days ago. He wasn’t stopping over 1m2f there and this stiffer stamina test should bring a fair amount of improvement.
