Willow Shields looks unrecognisable years after her role on The Hunger Games

She was just 11-years-old when she broke onto the screen as Primrose Everdeen, playing Jennifer Lawrence's character Katniss Everdeen's younger sister. Known for her role alongside the A-lister, her other credits include Netflix's Spinning Out, Beyond the Blackboard with Emily VanCamp and most recently, When Time Got Louder.

But fans who had only seen Shields in The Hunger Games had a shock recently after the actress uploaded an up-to-date snap on Instagram, showing off her gym physique.

She's now 24 and is completely ripped, with her toned snap attracting more than 16,000 likes. But some still couldn't believe she's the same person who played Katniss' soft-spoken little sister, with one fan commenting: "The way my jaw literally dropped."

"You look amazing," they added after the upload back in April. "You've come a long way since The Hunger Games," another added. While someone else said that her body appeared "strong and incredible," noting her rise to fame as a youngster in Hollywood.

Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, alongside her real-life twin sister Autumn, Willow was in 2009's Plain Sight before shooting The Hunger Games in 2012, later going on to record fantasy film Into the Rainbow in 2017 before landing her recent gig on Netflix.

She's scooped a Young Hollywood Award and an MTV Award throughout her glittering career, alongside documenting her life and travels on social media. It comes after she revealed the dark side of living a life online, telling fans she'd been "blackmailed and extorted" for nude photographs "never meant to be shared with the whole world ".

Uploading the snap in question herself, Willow penned in the caption: "I'm taking back the control and sharing it with you first. Here's the photo they emailed and attached threatening to share with my friends, family, and the internet." She explained: "They claim to have many more 'less tame' photos to use against me."

She didn't want to "let someone else make choices " about her body or "allow someone to have power" over her, adding: "I've already reported this person and case to the FBI and I sincerely hope they take the investigation seriously and follow through with this crime.

"I also share this because I know how many other people are affected daily by revenge porn, and nude leaks, that are carried out by hackers and criminals in an effort to break down body, and mind, both deeply vulnerable. I understand and I’m sorry it exists," she added at the time, telling followers she "will not stand for any slut shaming".
