A man has been arrested after raping a women he lassoed around the neck with his belt in New York City.
Kashaan Parks, 39, was named as a suspect nine days after a 45-year-old woman was attacked in South Bronx. NYPD arrested him on Saturday. Police confirmed the woman was near East 152nd Street and Third Avenue at approximately 3 a.m. when the man walked behind her and lassoed his belt around the victim’s neck. The woman fell unconscious before she was then raped
Police only found out about the incident when the victim was arrested for petty larceny, and then told them about the ordeal. This is despite footage of the violent attack going viral on social media. The unnamed woman then identified Parks as the man who raped her.

The perpetrator was identified by police on Friday as 39-year-old Kashaan Parks (NBC New York)
Parks remains on the run, though the incident was caught on security cameras (NBC New York)Chief of Patrol Joseph Kenny told amNY: “Our victim indicated that she had seen him before; she actually described his teeth to us; he had unusual teeth. She said he has space between his teeth."
Parks, who is a father of one, allegedly dragged his victim down the pavement before bending over her body, with officers believing the attack followed an earlier conversation between the two pertaining to paid sex, where the victim was offered money.
However, police alleged when this did not materialize, Parks became extremely angry and allegedly strangled the victim and raped her.

Yousuf Azami, who is facing charges of kidnapping, lewdness and sexual assault on a teenage girl, was hit by a man believed to be the victim's dad, Glenn Cromwell Jr.
Cromwell Jr followed Azami, 59, down a corridor and landed a punch that knocked him off his feet. After knocking Azami to the floor, Cromwell Jr continued to hit and kick him, despite attempts from several people, including a police officer, to break up the fight.
Cromwell Jr has since been arrested and charged with battery. The incident occurred as Azami was preparing to face court over an alleged attempted rape at the Mirage Hotel on September 3. The girl is thought to have been 14 or 15 at the time of the assault, according to the New York Post.
A girl fell asleep in an apartment and woke up to a shocking scene. She told the court: "She stated she felt his pelvis 'grinding' against her and he was not wearing any clothes." After telling the man to stop, she showered and left in some of his clothes.”
