Juventus' move for Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood could allow Liverpool to revive their interest in Bianconeri star Federico Chiesa.

Greenwood, 22, is expected to leave Old Trafford as he enters the final year of his contract. The one-cap England international spent the last year on loan at Getafe, though the Spanish club are not believed to have the financial might to compare with some of European football's bigger hitters.

Juve have been given the green light to move for the United academy graduate, but they too may be required to sell to balance the books. That's where Chiesa comes into the picture.

The Italy international has been tipped to leave Turin this summer after reportedly failing to convince new manager Thiago Motta to keep him around, Liverpool have been linked before, but they're not the only Premier League side mentioned this time .

According to reports in Italy (via The Sun), Juventus already have an agreement in place to bring Greenwood to the club. The deal could still be a few weeks away, though, with player sales required to finance what would reportedly be a £40million deal.

Matias Soule is one of those expected to leave. The 21-year-old Argentine impressed on loan at Frosinone last season, and there have been reports of interest from England and Saudi Arabia.

Chiesa, too, is being tipped to move on. The 26-year-old has a year left on his current deal, and Arsenal and Newcastle have joined Liverpool in being linked with the Euro 2020 star.

The son of former Italy international Enrico, Federico Chiesa broke through at his dad's former club Fiorentina before joining Juve on loan in 2020 and permanently two years later. He scored twice at Euro 2020 as Italy won the competition, but has struggled to consistently hit the same heights since sufferinng a serious injury a few months after the tournament.

While Liverpool links might be taken with a pinch of salt, they could well find themselves after attacking reinforcements if Mohamed Salah moves on. The Egyptian, who also has a year left on his current deal, continues to be linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League.

Liverpool were linked with a move for Chiesa in the summer of 2023, only for him to stay put. Since then, the Reds have seen manager Jurgen Klopp leave Anfield, with Arne Slot taking the reins.

Chiesa scored nine times in Serie A in the 2023-24 season, earning a spot in his country's squad for the upcoming Euros. However, that might not be enough to keep him at the Allianz Stadium.
