Wayne Lineker, 62, has broken his silence on social media after being knocked unconscious by a thug.
The brother of Match of the Day star, Gary Lineker has spoken out on social media after he collapsed in the street following an attack by a thug at 4am on Wednesday morning on the Spanish party island. Shocking video footage shows Wayne, who is the co-owner of various establishments on Ibiza, including the infamous O Beach Club in San Antonio, trying to hold his arm to defend himself.
The incident took place outside Eden bar, San Antonio, moments after Wayne was seen arguing with a group of men who appeared to have been pestering a female pal of his. Wayne broke his social media silence after the incident to post a message for his son on Instagram.
Wayne, who is a dad of four, posted a video to celebrate his son Freddie’s 20th birthday. The video showed a younger Freddie playing with a hoola hoop, with Wayne captioning the clip: “Sorry @freddie_lineker you won’t like me for this but as a dad it’s very special… Happy 20th birthday to my special handsome boy and superstar DJ… keep doing what’s you’re doing.
"Big things coming your way and to your credit without any help from me!! 'Dad I got this, Appreciate you wanting to help me but I need to do this myself.' So proud of you when you said this to me. Love you #my boy.”

An 18-year-old witness, said the two men had started arguing after the thug and his mates began pestering Wayne's female pal, who is said to be in her 20s.
They continued: "It was horrible - he looked like he could have been dead at one point. Wayne just fell on the floor and the man and his friends ran off. He was completely unconscious for about 20 minutes at least. He wasn't really speaking much when he did eventually come back round. I stayed to help him and the police turned up but they weren't there for long and didn't really do much and left quickly," reports The Sun.
On Tuesday, the Ibiza club owner posted a video to his Instagram of himself and the female friend at the centre of the row, toasting each other with glasses of champagne. He captioned the snap: "Bunny's back." The socialite also shared a post wishing a Happy Birthday to his son Freddie - along with a number of other Instagram stories.
