MARTIN Roberts was recently left stunned by a Homes Under the Hammer renovation that was completed in a matter of days.

The BBC One show host visited the South Wales village of Blaenrhondda to take a look at a property that was on sale for only £39,000.

He was shocked by the price, given the two-bed house seemed to be in great condition from the outside and was in a good location.

Martin headed inside cautiously, but was even more pleasantly surprised to see double glazing on the windows and a central heating system already installed.

The presenter was also impressed by the spacious lounge and kitchen diner.

Two bedrooms and a large bathroom could be found on the first floor, where Martin also spotted damp patches on the ceiling, but did not seem concerned by them.

"Yes it needs a bit of work," he admitted, "a bit of refurbishment, a bit of tender loving care but you've got a house here that's a good size in a great location, I mean, what's not to love?"

Despite being blown away by the great condition the property was in, Martin was still surprised to hear how quickly the new owner planned to refurbish it.

Tom shared his high hopes that he would be able to flip the house in 14 to 21 days while working full time.

What's more, he set himself a budget of £10k, and planned to do the majority of the renovation work with his brother rather than hire professionals for the job.

An incredulous Martin branded Tom "speedy" after hearing his goals, but sure enough, it only took the man 18 days to get the house up to scratch.

When the Homes Under the Hammer crew returned to film the transformation, the homeowner shared that he only took one week's leave from his job to do manual labour around the house.

The remainder of the work was all done at the weekend.

In that short period of time Tom managed to install a new kitchen, bathroom, and fresh doors.

He also levelled the floors and laid down new laminate on them, decorated the home, and updated the garden.

When an estate agent visited the property he revealed that Tom would be able to make a profit of £28k when selling it.

The delighted man responded: "I'm quite pleased with that overall, it's more than I was anticipating when I first bought the property so, yeah, very pleased with that."
