Lucy Beaumont and Jon Richardson are set to have an awkward reunion with the Jon, Lucy & Friends 2nd Annual Comedy Night.

Last month, the couple shared the shock news that they parted ways after almost a decade of marriage. They said on April 12: "After 9 years of marriage, we would like to announce that we have separated. We have jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go our separate ways."

"As our only priority is managing this difficult transition for our daughter, we would ask that our privacy be respected at this sensitive time to protect her well-being. We will be making no further comment", they also wrote. The duo first met when they were match-made by fellow comedian Roisin Conaty and got married in April 2015.

They welcomed a daughter a year later, but have made sure she is kept away from prying eyes. Despite the split, the former couple are joining forces for their second annual night of stand-up comedy, Jon, Lucy & Friends 2nd Annual Comedy Night on May 15, which is raising funds for Sheffield Children's Hospital.

After Lucy and Jon announced their split, Lucy appeared on stage at London's Bloomsbury Theatre over a week later and provided a brief update on the divorce. She was back on stage on April, 20, for another performance as part of her first stand-up tour across the country, a show titled The Trouble and Strife.

The words ring ironically as the expression is a British slang term for "wife", prompting Lucy to quip: "I didn’t have time to change the show." Lucy addressed the news headlines and admitted they agreed to go their separate ways "last year" and only revealed the news as a publication allegedly "found out" before their reveal.

Lucy has assured she and Jon remain on good terms, according to the Metro's review of her show, adding: "We’re friends. It’s the best for everybody."

Lucy and Jon previously starred in Meet The Richardsons as "exaggerated versions of themselves" from 2020 and a fifth series was dropped on UKTV Play on April 8, 2024. Following Lucy and Jon's divorce news, fans have been wondering if the show could also draw to a close to mark the end of their collaboration, both on and off-screen.
