Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have once again been vehemently supported by Omid Scobie.

The journalist, who has been referred to as their 'mouthpiece' and is the author of the controversial book, Endgame, took aim at those who criticised the pair for visiting Nigeria. Scobie took to Twitter /X to share his support of the Sussexes and slam those who tried to condemn the couple's visit.

After sharing a number of scathing opinions about Harry and Meghan's African visit, Scobie penned: "So pressed over an overseas visit that didn’t cost the British taxpayer a penny lol. The state of them."

The trip was also said to have left the royal family fuming too. According to royal expert Jennie Bond, the visit annoyed Prince William and King Charles. Bond, a former BBC Royal correspondent, told OK!: "The King and Prince William are firmly of the belief that you are either in or out of the working Royals.

"This seems to be a rather strange halfway house. I think both the King and the Prince, and indeed the Government, will want it to be made clear that Harry is not representing either the Royal Family or Britain on this trip."

The British High Commissioner to Nigeria Richard Montgomery also confirmed the couple were not representing the UK in Nigeria during their time in the country. He said: "It's great that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are visiting Nigeria, which I understand is at the invitation of Defence Headquarters. But they are visiting in a private capacity, not an official one."

Harry and Meghan paid special thanks to the nation on their departure. In a gushing statement to PEOPLE, the Prince said: "These trips are about us being able to go out and go and focus on the things that mean so much to us. And being able to be on the ground, to us, is what it’s all about."

He added: "It's really meaningful. Just being able to connect to people...that's what makes it special."
