A CAR expert has picked out a luxury super saloon that packs plenty of punch - all for a second-hand price of less than £10,000.

YouTuber Jonny Brighton of the channel CarsWithJB has listed his favourite pacey saloon cars that won't break the bank - with perhaps the standout being the lovely Audi S8.

The S8 is perhaps the perfect combination of performance and comfort - able to out-accelerate a plethora of supercars while boasting limousine-esque luxury.

That's especially true with the high-performance sport variant, built between 2006 and 2009 that came with a monstrous 5.2-litre V10 engine.

Capable of 443 bhp, this S8 could reach 60 mph in just 4.9 seconds.

Jonny said: "It's basically a performance version of a full-size size luxury car which pretty much refuses to compromise on either performance or luxury."

The petrolhead added that the S8 badge "adds a little bit of spice into the mix" compared to other Audi saloons, with this model possessing "slightly more performance focussed suspension and sportier seats which remain comfortable."

The S8 has certainly captured the imagination of motorheads looking for the best of both worlds - while celebs such as Kevin Costner and Ben Affleck spotted driving them in the past.

Today, the S8 is Audi's flagship model in its A8 range and the most powerful of its kinds from the German brand - with a price-tag to match at an eye-watering £111,800.

According to Jonny, the older model can be found second-hand for less than £10,000 - although they usually sit around the £12k-mark.

The S8 isn't the only fast Audi that can be picked up for a reasonable price, as expert car dealer James Russell of The Motor Grid recently urged petrolheads to look out for the first generation Audi TT, particularly the Quattro Sport edition.

In an exclusive chat with Sun Motors, James said: “It's got that black roof, which makes it really iconic, and not many people know about that.

“They're a bit of a hidden gem, these cars, and of course they have Recaro seats.

“It's just a little bit special."

The Audi TT, which can also be found for less than £10,000, has become synonymous with the modern classic genre, especially after the German brand decided to discontinue the model last year.

This comes as Vauxhall unveils its chunky new SUV with a very familiar name, as the company confirms to Sun Motors' supremo Rob Gill that it plans on ditching plans to go fully electric in 2028.

And elsewhere, a legendary Ford that's been stored in pristine condition for nearly 40 years has sold for a whopping six-figure sum.
