THE third and final day of the Dante Festival at York is upon us, with the Boodles Yorkshire Cup the highlight this afternoon.

It's another huge race day, so Tote are once again guaranteeing a stunning £150,000 in the Placepot - as they have done throughout the meeting!

When big prizes are on offer, our tipping guru Templegate is on hand to offer his expert opinion on the action to hopefully help you chase a big winner!

The Placepot is a bet where you select a horse to be placed in the FIRST SIX races of any meeting.

You can pick more than one horse in a race – you just multiply the number of selections in each race to calculate your stake. So for staking it’s 2x1x2x1x2x2 which adds up to 16 lines.

You can stake what you want upwards from 5p a line. 10p a line is £1.60 with our picks and so on.

Provided at least one in each race is placed, we get a payout!

York Dante Festival - Friday placepot picks

LEG 1: It Ain’t Two, Seraphim Angel

IT AIN’T TWO got the job done nicely on debut at Newmarket last time. She was always up with the pace and just eased clear in the final furlong. There’s no penalty for that success and she can take another step forward.

SERAPHIM ANGEL didn’t have to hit top gear when winning around Chester’s tight turns last week. This is tougher but there’s every chance she will progress for Tom Dascombe.

LEG 2: Botanical, Qitaal

BOTANICAL did nothing but improve last season, winning a novice contest at Hamilton before holding his own in a couple of decent handicaps. He ended the campaign with a smart win at Hamilton and should have more to offer over an ideal trip.

QITAAL has had three runs this season and went close at Goodwood 13 days ago. He was just collared on the line here and a 2lb rise in the weights gives the Charlie Johnston runner every chance.

LEG 3: Devoted Queen

DEVOTED QUEEN has won both starts nicely for Charlie Appleby and looks capable of coping with this hike in class. She had no problem seeing out this mile when scoring at Kempton last time and has a lot more to come.

LEG 4: Vauban, Tower Of London

VAUBAN is high-class over hurdles and pretty good on the level too as his Royal Ascot win over this trip showed last season. He then won a Group 3 before not enjoying himself when sent off favourite for the Melbourne Cup. He hit the front two furlongs out before not staying the two miles and this trip looks perfect on the level.

TOWER OF LONDON won a big prize in Dubai last time out in March and is a strong stayer with a turn of foot. He looks a danger for Aidan O’Brien.

LEG 5: Lead Artist

LEAD ARTIST was beaten by First Conquest in a head-bobber when they both made their debut at Newmarket last month. He is 6lb better off in the weights with his main rival today plus he had to come from a mile back at HQ and the line came a few strides too soon. The Gosden runner should be able to turn the tables today.

LEG 6: Tropez Power, Eldrickjones, Red Mirage

TROPEZ POWER won on the all-weather last time and looks very well handicapped back on turf. His best run on grass came when second in a similar contest to this last season and he likes to finish late off a fast pace which he should get here.

He got the better of ELDRICKJONES last time but the topweight has scored since and is another right in the hunt with a good claimer on board.

RED MIRAGE was a cosy winner at Catterick and is best over this distance. A 3lb rise for that gives him every chance again.
