Around 100,000 people have signed a petition calling for Harrison Butker to be removed from the Kansas City Chiefs following his contentious speech at Benedictine College last week.
The veteran Chiefs' placekicker returned to his alma mater to graduate last week and took to the stage to claim that several "diabolical lies told to women'', discussing topics such as abortion, surrogacy, and in vitro fertilization (IVF).He said: " are being told to women, touching on subjects such as abortion, surrogacy, and in vitro fertilisation (IVF).
He stated: "Things like abortion, IVF, surrogacy, euthanasia, as well as a growing support for degenerative cultural values in media all stem from the pervasiveness of disorder".

The three-time Super Bowl winner then turned his attention to the women in the audience, suggesting they should aspire to motherhood.
'I donated my eggs in return for cheaper IVF - it saved me £6,000 at least'He said: "For the ladies present today, congratulations on an amazing accomplishment. I want to speak directly to you briefly because I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolical lies told to you."
"Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world," he continued. "I can tell you that my beautiful wife Isabelle would be the first to say her life truly started when she started living her vocation as a wife and as a mother."
"I'm on this stage today, able to be the man that I am, because I have a wife who leans into her vocation. I'm beyond blessed with the many talents God has given me, but it cannot be overstated that all my success is made possible because a girl I met in band class back in middle school would convert to the faith, become my wife, and embrace one of the most important titles of all. Homemaker."
Butker's comments have caused uproar on social media, with both women and men expressing their disgust. One of the posts reads: "The harmful remarks made by Harrison Butker, kicker of the Kansas City Chiefs, during his commencement address at Benedictine College were unacceptable. His comments were sexist, homophobic, anti-trans, anti-abortion and racist."
It adds: "We demand accountability from our sports figures who should be role models promoting respect for all people regardless of their race, gender identity or sexual orientation. We call upon the Kansas City Chiefs management to dismiss Harrison Butker immediately for his inappropriate conduct."
One frustrated fan commented: "Season ticket holder for six years, this man has to go," and another added, "If he doesn't think women are worthy enough for a career then he shouldn't be either. This man does not deserve any kind of platform."
Ex-Kansas City commissioner Justice Horn was firm in his statements: "Harrison Butker doesn't represent Kansas City nor has he ever. Kansas City has always been a place that welcomes, affirms, and embraces our LGBTQ+ community members."
Butker has secured his role as Kansas City's kicker for the last seven seasons, contributing significantly to the Chiefs' Super Bowl aspirations with numerous successful playoff kicks, and clinching their second win in consecutive years.
