RISHI SUNAK this week admitted he “can’t quite remember” when he first learned about sex – and told a panel on ITV’s Loose Women that he had picked up the facts of life “through a mix of things”.
Isn’t he the lucky one?
New guidance being brought in to deal with teaching of sex education is so essentialCredit: PAWoke teaching guidelines have already destroyed children's innocenceCredit: AlamyI remember vividly the cringe-making book called Where Do Babies Come From? that my mum brought to my bedroom when I was about 11.
And I think for those of us who ever had some kind of sex lesson, the experience is forever ingrained in our brains.
Which is why the new guidance being brought in to deal with teaching of sex education in schools is so essential.
From tongue scraping to saying no, here are 12 health trends to try in 2023It states that sex education will not be taught to kids before they are nine, and what they learn will be based on science.
Staff should teach the biological facts and parents will now have the right to see what kids are taught.
Teaching about gender identity, and the idea people can be born the wrong sex, will be banned.
This is very timely guidance — but it is shocking it was even necessary or that teachers needed clarity on what is right and wrong to tell youngsters.
Some impressionable children were told that there are 72 genders.
Which, when you realise the NHS only recognises six — women, men, non-binary, gender queer, gender-fluid and transgender — is extreme.
Some young children were being shown graphic lessons in oral sex, and primary pupils taught forms of sex education.
Our schools are meant to nurture and educate the next generation, not baffle them with inappropriate content.
Some of this teaching has gone way too far.
Schoolchildren absorb facts like sponges and kids who are still at the age where they are dealing with the loss of Father Christmas and the Tooth Fairy should not have had to deal with grown-up sex lessons.

Of course, children need to be educated about the truthful facts, at the right age, and be able to ask questions.
And who better to do this than our teachers, who have now been given clear guidelines on exactly how to do this?
This clampdown will not only protect our innocent children but all teachers.
It’s a fact of life that our kids remain innocent until something destroys that.
Tragically, for many children today, woke teaching guidelines have already destroyed their innocence.
Let’s hope our schools all now follow these new rules.
Or we could end up with parents being forced to try to give the lessons.
And none of us wants that.

ANITA RANI has been slammed by cruel critics for wearing a see-through dress to the Baftas.
There was speculation that the 46-year-old presenter wore it as a revenge dress after splitting from her husband of 14 years last year, but she says it’s all down to a woman “owning who she is”.

Good on her.
I hope she enjoyed every single second in the spotlight on the red carpet – and firmly stuck two fingers up at those idiots who tried to condemn her.
Do Maya yer P's and Q's
CHARLES and Camilla could have given Posh and Becks a run for their money, the way her pink dress matched his waistcoat.
They invited more than 4,000 guests from the worlds of culture, art, film, TV, radio and fashion to a Buckingham Palace garden party.

She said to Charles: “I host Love Island. I don’t know if you’ve watched it? It’s a reality dating show.”
The 75-year-old monarch replied with a shrug: “There’s one born every minute.”
Jama responded: “There is, yeah.”
Oh, bless her for even thinking our King, who loves nothing more than fishing, painting, architecture and organic farming, would tune in to see who is being mugged off in their thong bikini.
Read the garden, Maya.
Nando's rice fuss
THERE has been a fuss made this week about Nando’s adding a rice bowl and wrap to their menu.
But I have to admit I don’t get the whole Nando’s “thing”.
Nando's fans have hit the roof after the restaurant added new menu itemsCredit: AlamyI visited for the first time last week.
(Yes, I know, everybody else has been going for years!). And I really loved the food.
But I won’t be rushing back.
I received a hefty bill in return for barely any waiter service, a restaurant floor littered with napkins, and a disappointed child who was told the frozen yoghurt machine didn’t work.
Oh, and the wine came in a can.
Enough said.
A right Gary on
I AGREE with Gary Lineker that there should be more cookery taught in schools.
He says pupils are being “failed” and need to learn how to cook, because the one thing we all do for ever is eat.

You know – the calorie, fat and salt-laden snacks that are helping our obesity crisis no end and certainly don’t encourage kids to get in the kitchen.
I could ring his neck...
SOCIAL media is often described as the new Wild West but last weekend I discovered it can be utterly brilliant.
Just days after our first wedding anniversary, The Geordie lost his wedding ring.
Social Media helped us find our wedding ringCredit: SuppliedAfter eventually calming down, I decided to be proactive and took to Facebook to post on local forums and ring-finder pages to see if anybody had spotted it.
A wonderful metal detector enthusiast came forward and spent a huge chunk of his weekend scouring the areas that my feckless husband had visited.
Sadly, he didn’t find the ring but it restored my faith in humanity – and made me realise social media isn’t such a bad place after all.
Glass is half foul
OOH, imagine the joy of going for a summer swim in the Lake District or having a glass of refreshing water from your tap and realising they are both riddled with . . . poo.
Sounds like a bad joke but in fact it is a reality.
This week it was revealed that 44.5million of us were supplied with water by a company that experienced at least one bacteria breach in 2022.
A total of 34 E. coli and enterococcus breaches took place, according to the Government’s Drinking Water Inspectorate, and both types of bacteria indicate water has been contaminated by faeces.
Meanwhile, paperwork seen by the BBC shows United Utilities pumped ten million litres of raw sewage into picturesque Lake Windermere in February, as it failed to fix a problem for TEN hours.
The water firm says it was caused by an “unexpected fault”, which I am sure it was, but it took 13 hours for them to even report it to the Environment Agency.
Now there’s sewage going into tap water in Brixham in Devon too, with around 16,000 affected following 46 confirmed cases of cryptosporidium.
What the heck is going on with our water?
