Mohamed Salah has hailed the influence of Jurgen Klopp after his final Liverpool game and says he "hopes we meet again" in a post on social media.

The German took charge of his final gamer at Anfield on Sunday, ending his nine-year tenure in charge of the Reds. His side saw off Wolves before mass tributes were paid on Merseyside to the club's greatest manager of the modern era.

Klopp ended Liverpool's wait for a Premier League crown, winning it in 2020. That came 12 months after the Reds had conquered Europe for the sixth time with a victory over Tottenham in Madrid, where Salah scored the opening goal from the spot.

The Egyptian was signed by Klopp in 2017, joining from Roma after he'd failed to get given sufficient opportunities with Chelsea previous to that. Salah went on to enjoy a record-breaking debut season and has been prolific ever since then, marking himself out as one of the club's greats.

With the dust now settling on Klopp's exit Salah has taken to social media and posted a picture of him and the German. He also said: "It was great sharing all those trophies and experiences with you over the past 7 years. I wish you the best of luck for the future and hope we meet again."

Salah has been the club's top scorer in every year he's been at the club with him and Klopp enjoying a strong bond. Albeit that was questioned in the final weeks when the pair clashed at West Ham when the Egyptian prepared to come on as a substitute.

Previously though Klopp had been vital in Salah extending his stay at Liverpool when a host of leading clubs wanted to land his signature. The Egyptian has always complimented his manager's style of play and has thrived as a result during his time at Anfield.

When he inked his deal several years ago Klopp said: "Really pleased – really, really pleased. It's the best decision for us and best decision for him. He belongs with us I think. This is his club now. I have no doubt Mo's best years are still to come. And that's saying something, because the first five seasons here have been the stuff of legend."

Klopp's departure could yet have a knock on affect for Salah. He previously formed part of a fearsome front three that included Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino but, as he continues to age and his contract winds down, Liverpool could yet cash in on their forward.
