Rebecca Loos is focusing on her inner peace amid an explosive new book about her former employer being released.
In Tom Bower's new book The House of Beckham, serialised by the Mirror over the weekend, David and Victoria Beckham's decades-long romance is put under the spotlight - including the Manchester United legend's alleged affair with Rebecca during his time in Spain.
The recent Netflix documentary about the Beckhams, produced by David's team, was dominated by an allegation that shook their relationship to its core. Rebecca's public claims of an affair with David in 2004 led Victoria to describe the aftermath as the "hardest period" for both of them.
Now, 24 years on from first claiming she had an affair with the former England captain, Rebecca has been thrusted back into the spotlight once again. Rebecca, who now lives a quiet life in Norway with her husband and their sons, is seemingly unbothered by the attention.
Taking to Instagram over the weekend, as the revelations about her alleged affair with David were published, the yoga teacher shared a number of clips of herself leading yoga stretches and meditations with her followers. Posting on her Instagram Stories on Monday morning, Rebecca shared a tranquil clip of herself meditating at 6.37am. "Gratefulness Meditation," the yoga guru wrote over the video.
Beckham's Inter Miami plan dealt first blow which could block Messi transferIn The House of Beckham, it's revealed for the first time that Rebecca decided to speak out about their alleged affair after being appalled by David's treatment of a waitress. Bower's book suggests this seemingly minor incident was the trigger for the biggest challenge in the Beckham's nearly quarter-century-long marriage.
He writes: "The turning-point for Loos was realising Beckham's double standards. After a meal for SFX employees at Madrid's Hard Rock Cafe, Beckham did not leave a tip." The next day, the waitress handed Loos a note for Beckham, expressing her anger that someone so famous and wealthy could be so stingy. She explained that she relied on tips to survive.
David was taken aback after reading the note and handed over a substantial amount of euros, saying, "'Give her this,' he said handing over a thick wodge of euros. Reflecting in February about how Beckham had played her and lied to her, Loos was angry." Reflecting on how David had manipulated and lied to her in February, Rebecca was furious. After being dismissed by Beckham's agency SFX, Loos sold her story to the News of the World, alleging an affair with the footballer.
In response, the Beckham's PR advisors swiftly arranged a carefully staged display of unity during a holiday in the Alpine ski resort of Courchevel to try and mitigate the damage to Brand Beckham. "In a bravura performance the couple clung to each other she with an iron grip on his hand. Then they performed a piggy-back and smiled," Bower writes. But behind closed doors things soon turned ugly.
"Once the show was over they disappeared into their chalet....as everyone drifted off, one journalist looked through the Beckhams' chalet window. Posh was slapping Beckham hard on his face. Beckham, famous for his 'short fuse', did not retaliate."
Victoria's move to Spain was far from smooth, with her experience there being anything but pleasant. "Her life in Madrid was lonely and unhappy. Although she had everything money could buy she was isolated. With few friends, she was unwilling to learn Spanish. Her diet, rigorous exercise and chain-smoking reflected her anxieties."
David seemingly ignored the revelations over the weekend as he celebrated Father's Day on social media. The former England captain, 49, shares four children – three sons Brooklyn, Cruz and Romeo and one daughter Harper Seven – with his wife and former Spice Girls star turned fashion designer Victoria.
On Instagram, David wrote: "My biggest achievement in life are my children, thank you @victoriabeckham for giving me these incredible people to love Always remember how much Dad loves you all xxxx." The post was accompanied by a picture of his children and father, David Edward Alan 'Ted' Beckham. David also said: "Happy Father’s Day Dad have an amazing day x love you @tedbeckhamdavid x." Posh wrote on her own page, "you are our everything" and sent him "so many kisses", while sharing photos of him with their children.
