ONE of Emmerdale's top couples could be about to go their separate ways for good as the Dingle clan go to war.
Sam and Cain Dingle have been left in a bitter feud after being on opposing sides of the fall out from Samson Dingle's horror stabbing.
Samson was unintentionally stabbed by Matty Barton, Cain's step-son, after the teen's wayward friend Josh pushed him which resulted in the knife ploughing into him.
They had been goading Matty and referring to the transgender chef as a "she" in a brutal move.
Samson refused to tell the police the truth and opted instead to go along with a faux story of how Matty erupted into a sea of jealousy over Josh's flirtations with his wife Amy.

It resulted in Matty being placed behind bars for the stabbing.
In tonight's episode, Emmerdale viewers saw for the first time how he was coping with prison life.
Appearing in a dishevelled state, Moira and Amy were left shocked to see him as he broke down and confessed to living in a "nightmare".
Matty told how he had refused to shower and avoided using the toilet in front of people in a bid to avoid showing his body.
Moira was left shook to her core over how her child felt and vowed to get Samson to change his statement.
Having enlisted Cain to help her get Samson to confess, Cain immediately backed down when he realised Samson was sticking to his story.
Furious at his little effort, Moira decided to take things into her own hands and cornered Samson in the pub toilets where she began to hit him and punch him where he was stabbed.
Having returned home following her scrap with Samson, Moira began to tear shreds out of Cain as she blasted him and insisted he was "not the man [she] married".
In a rage, Moira seethed at Cain: "The old Cain - he would have taken Samson apart!
"He would be begging to tell the truth - the old Cain would always have my back, he wasn't afraid of anything or anyone.

"He was fearless."
As Moira continued on with her heroic-rambling speech, Cain quipped: "What are you going on about?"
Moira said: "You should have just been able to look at Samson and he'd crumble.
"Nobody respects you anymore!"
She then went on to hint that a divorce could be on the cards as she said: "You are a coward Cain.
"You are weak and are no use for me.
"I don't even know what the point of you is anymore."
As Cain silently walked off, Moira sighed as she appeared to contemplate cutting him off for good."
