West Ham and Aston Villa - where Abraham spent a season on loan with from 2018-2019 - have also been linked this summer.

The Serie A side are themselves looking to fund a move for Spaniard Alvaro Morata, whose future at Atletico Madrid looks uncertain.

Elsewhere, Roma owner Dan Friedkin is set to take over Everton, as revealed by SunSport.

Friedkin, worth £4.8billion, has beaten off a bid by Vici Private Finance in the battle to become the new Everton owner.
