When wine master Tom Gilbey, with over 10,000 TikTok followers, gives a recommendation, we're all ears.
For wine lovers enjoying the late arrival of the summer weather, what could be more enticing than a nice chilled rosé under the sun. Gilbey's top pick for such occasions is a bottle of the La Vieille Ferme, touted as his best supermarket rosé for less than a tenner.
Endearingly known as "chicken wine" among fellow rosé fans due to its bird-themed label, this bottle comes from Famille Perrin, the same producer of Brad Pitt's renowned Rose Miraval - impressive lineage indeed. In one of his many relatable reviews on TikTok, the former winemaker, who has an unshakeable love for a delightful tipple, compared the £8.50 La Vieille Ferme (available at Tesco and Sainsbury's ) with a pricier £23 Vinatis wine.

Savouring a taste of "the old farm" (the English translation of Le Vieille Ferme), Gilbey characterised the aroma as offering hints of "a bit of white flower, strawberry and peach. It's good."
London, New York and Europe welcome New Year; plus pics from around the worldA quick sip leads to a brief but confident review of the taste, noting: "It's a fresh, crisp, chug it-all-day rosé."
Upon comparing the wallet-friendly £8.50 supermarket choice with the heftily priced Chateau Leoube Cotes de Provence Le Secret de Leoube Rosé from Sainsbury's, he remarked that even though the Leobue was "a little bit creamier, a little bit richer", he wouldn't part ways with £23 for it.
However, when it came to La Vieille Ferme, he didn't hesitate to suggest, "If I had £8.50, I would be banging it straight into the old farm."
This wine aficionado has earned a legion of followers on social media thanks to his candid reviews and unwavering commitment to showcasing tasty, budget-friendly wines. Never too snooty to sample wines that ordinary people purchase, Tom recently endorsed a Whispering Angel dupe, while also assisting diners in finding the best wines to order at Wetherspoon, Nandos and Pizza Express.
