First up, adding a small pop of colour to an otherwise plain room is a huge no-no.

This tends to happen when you play things safe by opting for white walls, a beige carpet, and matching furniture.

But all that white and beige can end up looking pretty boring - so a pop of colour seems like a great idea.

But a bright yellow lamp, cushions, vase or even rug is a bad idea, according to the interior pros.

Instead, you're always better off spreading colour throughout your home, not replying on a few bright pieces to do all the heavy lifting.

"I'm all about colour when it's spread harmoniously throughout your home, Robert explained.

"I'm talking about those all neutral rooms with three teal pillows and a teal picture frame, or all black and white with red," he continued.

And it's bad news if you're a fan of the rustic trend too, it's ok in pubs and restaurants but never your home, they explained.

Whether it's the DIY trend of using wooden pallets as coffee tables or even as a bad frame, or it's the the exposed pipes you think look edgy.

There's such a thing as too many hanging Edison light bulbs, the pros explained.

Of course, there is a way to subtly pull of this trend, but just steer clear of the DIY tasks that could leave your home looking cheap.

Previously, the pair also slated furniture that has technology built in, like arm chairs with USB ports and kitchen islands with adapters.

Sure, they might be handy now, but technology is always changing, meaning in a few years your hands USB sofa could be rendered pointless anyway.

After sharing their icks on TikTok people rushed to the comment section, many agreeing with their opinions.

"A pop of colour makes me feel like I'm in a hotel room for a conference," one worte.

A second agreed: "Pop of colour is so bad why do people still do it ew."

"I've got a curtain rod that looks like piping, I didn't chose it and now I can't unsee it," another wrote.

And someone else chimed in: "You're spot on with everything!"
