Karissa 26, and Rick 33, describe themselves as being "different from other couples" due to their extreme money saving techniques.

The pair save hundreds of pounds each year by showering at the same time, and by reusing each others shampoo, so that one bottle lasts them eight months.

Speaking to TLC's Extreme Cheapskates, Rick said "When we shower together it's strictly two minutes. and there's no hanky panky at all."

The duo share everything, from deodorant to razors and even uses a singular toothbrush.

"We're so cheap that we share out tooth floss", Karissa said.

The couple's money saving techniques have baffled their friends, with one pointing out that you can get tooth floss for less than a pound.

Karissa keeps her snacks locked away in a kitchen cupboard, and charges her husband if he wants to eat any of them.

The pair log all of their energy usage, and the person who uses the most energy has to pay more for the bills.

They go as far as keeping a tally of how often they flush the toilet, with the person who flushes the most have to fork out.

Karissa said that a "true cheapskate" prepares for every eventuality, so the couple have decided to plan their funeral now, so they can beat inflation costs.

"Statistically men die before women, and I don't want Rick to die and me to be stuck with a huge bill that I could get for half the price now".

The couple said that they are looking for the cheapest funeral deal possible, as they are going to be dead, so it doesn't really matter.

The average price of a funeral is around £4,000 and this cost doubles every 12 years.

Therefore, by paying for their funeral now, the couple will be saving tens of thousands of pounds.

The duo plan to just pay for one funeral and one coffin.

Karissa explained: "If Rick dies first then we can bury him and just exhume him when I die and then bury me with him and that way it's just one casket."

They also plan to share a headstone, and will just have their initials etched into it, which they estimate will save them around £1500.

"We've got a long life to live and Karissa and I are going to the cheapest we can", Rick said.
