You'll soon be able to strap a tech timepiece to your wrist without paying premium prices. Samsung has just announced the launch of its striking new Galaxy Watch FE which comes packed with smart features for under £200 - that's cheaper than Apple's popular Watch SE which starts from £219. This budget Samsung wearable includes a 1.2-inch Super AMOLED circular display which not only shows you the time and date but a swathe of data including how lazy or active you've been.
It can track over 100 different workouts (including walks, runs, swims and bike rides), give you exercise tips, check your pulse and alert you if things don't seem right with your heart rate. You can also take an ECG right from your arm which can help to show issues such as irregular rhythms.
Even when you head to bed it keeps on working with a full sleep score and snooze tracking available when you wake up.
Other useful features include being able to make calls and check messages without reaching for your Android phone plus you can change its look thanks to easily swappable straps.
Thanks to full compatibility with Samsung Pay, it's even possible to buy your shopping by simply tapping the screen at contactless payment points.
New Year resolutions you should make for 2023 based on your star sign“At Samsung, we strive to bring health and fitness monitoring capabilities to as many people around the world as possible, helping them to make the changes needed to improve their wellness daily and help them reach their goals,” said Samusung's Junho Park.
“We’re excited to add the new Galaxy Watch FE to our wearables portfolio, offering more people access to personalised health insights that empower them to be motivated and stay healthier day and night.”
If the Galaxy Watch FE sounds enticing it will go on sale later this week for just £199.
