NEXT has issued an urgent recall over fears that its sleep suits could pose a choking hazard.

The fashion giant has noticed a problem with its three pack of footless yellow, white and blue sleep suits and issued a return notice.

This is because there is an issue with the zip construction, which could result in the slider becoming detached.

There are concerns that a young child could then place the small part in their mouth and choke.

Next and The Office for Product Safety and Standards, part of the Department for Business and Trade, has issued the urgent recall.

This means that the product doesn't meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005 and has been recalled as a result.

Parents who bought the sleep suits are being urged to return them to Next and get a full refund.

You don't need to take your receipt with you.

If you can't make it to your nearest store, you can arrange a collection through your Next online account or call the retailer on 0333 777 8000.

The sleep suits were priced between £19 and £21, depending on the size.

To check if you have the sleep suit, look out for the code 514676 on the products' label.

Product recalls are common practice among retailers with items pulled from shelves for a host of different reasons.

In most cases, products are pulled because there is a safety risk to customers.

It comes after iCandy announced a voluntary recall of the Orange 4 pushchair due to a potential safety issue, effective immediately.

The brand has halted all sales of this specific pram following the discovery of a potential manufacturing defect that could pose a risk to babies.

Parents with the Orange 4 prams are being urged to stop using it immediately.

Instead, they need to contact iCandy customer service via qualityassurance@icandyuk.com for further instructions on how to proceed.

Plus, the CocoMelon JJ Interactive Learning Doll is being pulled from shelves following safety concerns.

What are my rights to a refund?

If you return a recalled product, your rights to a refund depend on whether the fault makes it unsafe.

Sometimes, companies will repair the product, for example, by fitting a new part instead of offering a refund.

However, if a fault makes a product unsafe to use or is too difficult to fix, you still have the right to claim a refund.

You can read more about your rights concerning a recalled product in our guide.

In December, Home Bargains issued a major recall for a heater it stocked.

The bargain chain issued a "DO NOT USE" alert after TJ Morris Ltd. discovered that its PIFCO Convector Heater with Turbo and Timer was at risk of going up in flames.

In the same month, Asda, Lidl and Tesco recalled a Beldray cordless vacuum over a manufacturing defect.

Meanwhile, Poundland issued an urgent recall on one of its toys over choking fears earlier last year.

And, a warning was issued to parents after Asda recalled a popular baby item.
