Sir Paul McCartney celebrated his 82nd birthday in style with a low-key dinner surrounded by his closest friends and family.
The legendary Beatles singer opted for an intimate affair rather than a star-studded bash for the occasion. He headed to a posh restaurant with wife Nancy and his five children to mark his birthday this week. They dined at the 17th century Boys Hall hotel in Ashford, Kent, shocking other diners when they rocked up.
Paul is a proud dad to fashion designer Stella, musician James, 20-year-old Beatrice, photographer Mary and adopted daughter Heather. The icon married Nancy Shevell, 64, in 2011 following his marriages to Linda McCartney and Heather Mills. His family are said to have joined him for a quiet dinner in a private room at the restaurant.
“They were quietly ushered in on Tuesday night and were taken to the Drawing Room, where the chefs cooked a three-course feast for them," a source told The Sun. "It was super low-key, just Paul and his closest family members. He looked really happy and seemed to be enjoying a quieter celebration. They left just after 10.30pm.”
It was a much more subdued celebration compared to Paul's huge bash following his Glastonbury headline slot in 2022. He partied until 3am with his family after taking to the iconic Pyramid Stage. Paul performed a set that lasted almost three hours and attracted the biggest crowed ever seen at Worthy Farm.

His wife Nancy and daughters Stella and Mary were at the side of the stage and joined him at an intimate party backstage when his set was done.
Other big name guests included Hollywood star Kate Hudson, supermodel Kate Moss, designer Tom Ford, actor Woody Harrelson and artist Peter Blake. Stella posted snaps on social media and said: "Dad...you made history, the largest crowd ever at Glasto. I am so proud to be your baby. Epic, epic, epic."
This week, Paul announced his first UK arena shows in six years. He announced he would play four dates in two cities later this year, with back-to-back performances at Manchester's Co-Op Live and London's The O2. But the announcement drew controversy as fans say the 82-year-old should have played his hometown of Liverpool.
Sharing the news with fans he said: "I'm excited to be ending my year and 2024 tour dates in the UK. It's always such a special feeling to play shows on our home soil. It's going to be an amazing end to the year. Let's get set to party. I can't wait to see you." Sir Paul will play Manchester's Co-Op Live arena on December 14 and 15 and London's O2 on December 18 and 19. The Beatle will also take his Got Back show to France and Spain, after previously announcing upcoming dates in Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and Peru this October.
