Amazon has reduced the cost of the mid-range Moto G84 by over £70 this JuneMotorola Moto G84 SIM-free, £179 (was £249.99)
June has turned out to be a great month of deals from Noughties superstar Motorola.
Just last week, I covered a similar Amazon discount on the SIM-free Moto G13, which has been reduced from £149.99 to £89.
Millions of Android owners could slash 'vampire bills' – how to save moneyA couple of days ago, my fellow tech deals writer Rhys Melhado-Thompson reported on a iD Mobile deal that offers the Motorola Moto G04 for just £8 per month.
You might consider Motorola the Rick Astley of the mobile phone market. (No, seriously, hear me out.)
There's no denying its heyday was decades go. But it's aged gracefully, and is now flourishing in a wisely-chosen, niche corner of the marketplace.
That would be the budget-friendly end of things: let's face it, if you've got the money to spend a flagship, it's Apple, Samsung or Google you're probably buying from.
I've taken a look across the specs for the Moto G84 - which one customer describes as a 'lower-mid-range' mobile - and for that sub-£200 price tag, you get a pretty decent array of features.
Firstly, there's that ample 6.5-inch display, which isn't that far off that off super-size phones like the iPhone 15 Plus or the Google Pixel 8 Pro.
It's a bit of a cheeky comparison - those are premium phones with displays with greater brightness and refresh rates.
But I know loads of shoppers out there value having a mobile phone that doesn't need a pair of reading glasses as a side accessory.
Secondly, there's the walloping 5000mAh battery.
The thing about budget-end smartphones is that since they don't have high-speed processors or top-end hardware, they don't drain their batteries nearly so quickly as pricey mobiles.
Millions of iPhone and Android phone owners must check settings immediatelyFor anybody who doesn't need a particularly advanced mobile, and really just wants one that will simply last throughout the day, this is something not to be underestimated as a feature.
The Motorola Moto G84 has become something of a sleeper hit on Amazon - it's actually now the sixth best-selling phone on the website.
It's got an average user rating of 4.5 out of 5, with one chuffed shopper saying: 'This phone has blown me away with its performance.
'I was using a Samsung S23 Ultra but downgraded as the Samsung is so heavy to hold... [I] wanted something that was lighter but still powerful enough for my needs .'
Another buyer even claims: '[The Moto G84] does things better than my flagship.' They don't specify what exactly, but my guess? It's the battery.
