We've all misplaced our phones at home – and it can be infuriating.

You feel like you're looking everywhere but you just can't find it.

Thankfully many Fitbit models have a Find Phone feature that can help you quickly discover your lost iPhone or Android.

First, make sure that your Fitbit is updated to the latest software version.

You'll also need to make sure that your Fitbit tracker is connected to the phone you're trying to locate.

It will only work if your phone has Bluetooth on.

And you'll need to be within 30 feet (10 metres) of it with your Fitbit device.

The Fitbit app also needs to be running in the background on your phone.

And your phone will need to be switched on.

You'll also need a Fitbit with a smartwatch face so that you can access apps.

Now swipe into your quick settings and look for the Find Phone app on your Fitbit tracker.

Now tap Find Phone, which will cause your phone to ring loudly.

Once you've found your phone, you can tap Cancel to end the ringtone.

Apple Watch

Apple Watch owners may not realise that you can perform a similar trick with the iPhone.

There's a clever Apple "ping" feature that lets you easily contact your iPhone and make it ring.

This will work even if your iPhone is on silent.

Simply swipe down from the top of the Apple Watch screen top open the Control Centre.

Then tap the phone-shaped button (with two curved lines on either side) to ping your iPhone.

This is extremely helpful if you've lost it down the back of the sofa or in a coat pocket.

If you press and hold the button, you can also trigger the iPhone's flashlight to blink.

This can make it much easier to find, especially in the dark.
