Ever fancied a tattoo but can't face the pain?

Turns out, there's a painless way to get inked anywhere on your body - and it's entirely needle-free. Believe it or not, this bizarre method actually involves a small printer which copies images onto your skin in a matter of seconds.

'Liana', a tech content creator, took to TikTok to experiment with one $399 (£314) Korean beauty set which has gone completely viral online. "I'm so excited to try it out," she said posting to @artandplanstudio. "This is the Imprintu mini art maker that you can create temporary tattoos with.

"I actually don't have any tattoos, so I'm really hyped about trying this gadget for the first time." Imprintu's set encompasses a small printer which connects to a phone app offering more than 10,000 different tattoo designs.

Users can design their own patterns and images too, which are printable on skin, clothes, paper and even tote bags. They last for around two days and wash off with soap and water. Liana continued: "It has this powder primer to prep your skin before using it.

"Now I chose this butterfly design and look at that!" The content creator zoomed in on a colourful zig-zag of butterflies now winding up her arm, before adding: "I also wanted to try it on my face so after I failed not one but three times, finally I did it! Of course it takes practice to use it, and eventually you'll get there and you can now create beautiful temporary tattoos."

Imprintu isn't the only player in the tattoo game, with Prinker also stirring up a storm online. Their device was previously reviewed by influencer Safiya Nygaard, who experimented with customisable designs within its connected phone app.

User @safiyaany said: "The only caveat is that printing them on to your skin is not that easy, so some of these guys did end up kind of smudgy, but I'm learning!"

The Prinker S package is available on Amazon for £329, offering more than 12,000 pre-made designs and an ink cartridge which applies around 1,000 tattoos. The biggest tattoo it can print is around 22mm x 1000 mm, and they last for between one and three days.
