JK ROWLING has been named Britain’s most generous female celebrity.
The Harry Potter author, 58, has given away £18million — almost two per cent of her total net worth of £945million — in the past 12 months.

Sir Elton John — who finished his final world tour last year — donated £27million, or 5.7 per cent of net worth.
That works out at £3,000 an hour.

He is closely followed by F1 driver Sir Lewis Hamilton, 39, who
donated £11million, or 3.2 per cent of his £350million net worth.
Sir Lewis gave the £11million to a range of charities including his own, called Mission 44.
Launched in 2021, it aims to boost diversity in motorsport and education.
The list, compiled by raffle site Raffolux, puts businessman and The Apprentice star Lord Alan Sugar, 77, in fourth place having donated £7million, or 0.7 per cent of his net worth.
Fifth is Virgin tycoon Sir Richard Branson, 73.
He handed out £80million, or 0.4 per cent of net worth.
That is the same proportion as 76-year-old Andrew Lloyd Webber, made a baron in 1997, who gave £3.5million to charity.
Tech billionaire James Dyson, 77, is said to have donated £46million — 0.2 per cent of net worth.
