A hungry Brit performed a U-turn after spotting "cult-like" slogans all over the building of his latest pizza takeaway.
Taking to Reddit, the man shared snaps of the strange find after opting to rely on his mum's cooking instead. "Nothing to see here, just your average takeaway in Stockton-On-Tees," he cursed. "I hope mam says we have pizza at home."
Sandwiched in between windows above The Munch Box was a sign written in a blood-like font that read: "Your children shall be dashed to pieces!" And written on the window directly above the takeaway's signage, meanwhile, was another red inscription, reading: "House of fire."
Elsewhere, swastika-like symbols hung on bunting decorated across the lower windows, with more drawn on the glass around it. It prompted other Reddit users to try and decipher the meaning of the bizarre decorations, with one person claiming: "They represent Kali, the Hindu goddess destruction and annihilation. From the top comment, turns out there's some serious lore behind this image!"
Others hut down the theory, however, with another person explaining: "The odd thing is they are not proper/fully formed Hindu swastikas. I was trying to see if maybe two together would form a full one, but it doesn’t look like it."
'My wife wants to change our four-year-old's name but I think it is too late'And a second person backed up their remark, adding: "As a Hindu I can tell you that is nothing to do with Kali it’s not even a proper swastika never seen one drawn like that."
After carrying out alternative religious research, a third person detailed: "I was curious, so I looked it up. Your children shall be dashed to pieces is from the Bible. Isaiah 13:16, to be precise. What an uplifting bit of scripture!"
"They're a cult. Sort of," penned another Redditor, before a fifth pondered: "Seems like the residents of the flat above have a vendetta towards the takeaway below?"
