This is the shocking moment a man is seen on the ground between the train and the platform after falling through.

A rescue mission was launched at Sittingbourne station in Kent around 4pm on June 18. The footage shows four officials peering down the gap, seemingly calling for help while instructing bystanders to keep their distance.

The person who filmed the incident, who chose to remain anonymous, said: "I was sitting at train station when I heard all this commotion. People all started crowding round, I took a closer look and could see a bloke down the side of the train."

He further described the scene adding: "He looked like he wasn't moving and he wasn't making any noise and I could see blood coming out of his head."

It remains unclear how the man ended up in such a precarious position, but he was eventually helped back onto the platform and was conscious at the time.

A representative from South East Coast Ambulance Service confirmed: "I can confirm that SECAmb was called at approximately 3:45pm yesterday (18 June) to reports of a person in need of medical attention at Sittingbourne train station."

They added, "Crews arrived and assessed and treated one person at the scene before taking them to the Medway Maritime Hospital for further care."

A spokesperson for Southeastern railway also commented on the incident, stating: "We are aware of an incident involving a customer at Sittingbourne railway station."

They emphasised, "The safety of our customers and colleagues is always our absolute priority." They concluded by saying, "The electricity supply was turned off immediately and the ambulance service called. The customer was helped back up to the platform shortly after and services were able to be resumed."
