The late Donald Sutherland, who passed away on June 20, had five children.
The actor shares son Kiefer and daughter Rachel with hiis second wife, Shirley Douglas. His remaining three sons Roeg, Rossif and Angus are shared with third wife Francine Racette. Keifer was the one to share the news of his father’s death on social media. He posted a black and white childhood photo of a him as a toddler and Donald.
He captioned the photo: "With a heavy heart, I tell you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away" Kiefer wrote. "I personally think one of the most important actors in the history of film. Never daunted by a role, good, bad or ugly. He loved what he did and did what he loved, and one can never ask for more than that. A life well lived."

Kiefer Sutherland
Kiefer was born on Dec. 21, 1996 to Donald and then-wife Shirley. Rachel is his twin sister. Just like his father, Kiefer is an actor and is well known for the long running show 24 and for the the three-seasoned Designated Survivor. In 2016, he got an opportunity to share the screen with his father for the first time in Forsaken. He told PEOPLE: "Working with him is something I have wanted to do for 30 years."

Rachel Sutherland
Rachel is Kiefer's twin and the only daughter of The Hunger Games star. She was born in Dec 21, 1966. Rachel may not be in front of the spotlight but she works behind the scenes in the entertainment industry as a production manager.
Kiefer in a 2018 The Guardian shared he was "incredibly close" with twin Rachel. "Being a twin taught me the value of having a companion. Every time I experienced something I could turn to my left and share it," he said. "When I was having my first child I said to my mother, 'My gosh you had two at the same time.'"
"She said, 'Oh, sweetheart, it was fine. By the time you were 2 you were looking after each other.' She made it sound like she'd got a deal, which always made me laugh" Kiefer continued.
Roeg Sutherland
Roeg is the son of Donald and his third wife Francine. He was born on Feb. 5, 1974 in Los Angeles. Roeg is also in the entertainment industry as works for talent and sports agency Creative Artists Agency in the company's Media Finance division.
The division oversees the "packing and representation of independently financed films, television and digital content," per The Hollywood Reporter. In 2020, he talked to the outlet about how the independent film industry will survive the COVID-19 pandemic. He stated they "are thinking outside the box" and people "people are working harder and smarter."
Rossif Sutherland
Rossif was born on Sept. 25, 1978 in Vancouver, Canada and is the second son of Donald and Francine. The family moved to Paris when he was seven. While Rossif followed in his father's footsteps, it wasn't his original plan to be an actor. It was until he filled in for a student in a Princeton film. The 45 year-old told PEOPLE that the performance left his father with "tears in his eyes" and his father old him this is what he was "supposed to do"
Rossif told the The New York Post in 2013 that acting was something he wanted to do but he "always in awe of what my father did." In his acting career so far, he's been on the The Handmaid's Tale and TV series Reign from 2013-2015. His performance in the 2016 movie Rover was was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award.
Angus Sutherland
Donald and Francine welcome their youngest son Angus on Sep. 3. 1982. Similarly to older sister Rachel, he works behind the scenes with his work in front of and behind the camera.

All of his four sons were named after different filmmakers he's worked with. Kiefer was named after Warren Kiefer, who directed Sutherland in Castle of the Living Dead.
