EVERY summer a batch of sexy singletons head to Mallorca looking for love.

And while they certainly all have beauty, viewers are often left wondering if they do in fact have brains.

Over the years there have been someone stand out moments – most notably when, in 2018, Hayley Hughes didn’t have a clue what Brexit was.

During a toe-curling conversation the group attempted to discuss politics and Hayley admitted she thought it meant we wouldn’t have any more trees.

This year has seen the arrival of legendary Towie star Joey Essex, who famously struggled to tell the time for years.

But while some fans might think the stars are dopey, they are far from it – and more than 1 in 10 of them went to university.

Perhaps surprisingly, most of the stars have science degrees, including Michael Griffiths (season 5) and Jordan Waobikeze (season 6) who both have degrees in biology.

Then there is the likes of Demi Jones who studied History and Archaeology, Tyler Cruickshank who is a lawyer and Shaughna Phillips, who is in fact a trained journalist.

As well as those who have studied, a number have impressive businesses behind them before they even step foot in the villa – like this series’ sweet store owner Sean.

Danielle Frawley, Marketing Manager at StuRents explained: “Social media and reality TV could be impacting future school leavers’ decisions, especially with the continual rise of Influencers and brand deals.

However, it’s quite impressive how many online and TV personalities have earned notable degrees behind the scenes and are putting them to great use off-camera.

This proves education is still extremely valuable, even for those looking to pursue careers in media and entertainment”

And over the years we’ve seen the stars of Love Island go on to make millions off the back of the show – showing off impressive business acumen and some serious brain power.

Just look at the likes of Molly-Mae Hague, Olivia Bowen and Megan Barton-Hanson, who live in mega mansions with piles of cash in the bank. Clearly not just a pretty face!
