PHIL FODEN says the intensity of England training has gone up as Gareth Southgate’s side look to raise their game.
The Three Lions have four points from their opening two Euros games, but performances – particularly in Thursday’s 1-1 draw against Denmark – have been slated.
Manchester City star Foden, 24, is looking on the bright side but admitted the team “expect more of themselves”.
Speaking to FA show Lions’ Den, the footballer of the year said: “I feel like the intensity (of training) has gone up a little bit.
“We’ve had a good start, we’re on four points, but we expect more from ourselves.

“I look around and the characters we have, we always expect more from ourselves. Training has gone up going into this game.”
Foden also heaped huge praise on the technical ability of Southgate’s current crop, despite their underwhelming start out here in Germany.
The City superstar added: “The standard is so high.
“For me it’s probably the most technical England team I’ve ever seen. Training is such a high level, it’s where you want to be, training with the best players week in, week out.
“I’m just happy to be here and to try to help the team as best as possible.”
Foden also reckons the team are feeling their way into the tournament and are "full of confidence" going into Tuesday's clash with Slovenia.
He added: "It's such a great group here, everyone sticks together.
"Now I feel we’re finding our feet, we’re going into the third game full of confidence and trying to finish top of the group."
