Fullkrug's late goal proved to be crucial in deciding the team's fate, but Kroos refused to get caught up in the celebrations.

While several Germany players ran to celebrate, Kroos simply started walking back to the halfway line.

Fans took to social media to react, with one person writing: "Kroos didn’t even move after the late goal for Germany yesterday, that man too cold."

Another commented: "Toni Kroos celebrating Germany's late goal against Switzerland yesterday. Cold as always."

While a third said: "Toni Kroos is no longer even celebrating titles, let alone goals."

He ended his club career winning the Champions League and La Liga title with Real Madrid.

Despite coming to the end of his time with the German national team, Kroos has been one of the standout players of Euro 2024 so far.

Against Switzerland he recorded the most touches (127), completed the most passes (98) and most passes in the final third (28), won possession more times than any other player (eight) and created the most chances (four).

The midfielder also broke the record for most completed passes in a European Championship group stage with 324.

Discussing Germany's draw with Switzerland, manager Julian Nagelsmann said: "It's always important to have players on the bench who can change games.

"We have players who can come in off the bench who are different. We need every player. They can be important for us in every situation.

"[Fullkrug] gives a good argument for both jobs - coming from the starting XI and off the bench. It's good luck and bad luck for him that he is so good in that role."
