West Ham's £35million bid for Kilman was rejected by Wolves.

The Hammers are planning to bolster their defence in a bid to back new boss Julen Lopetegui ahead of his first season in charge.

Lopetegui is said to be a huge admirer of the 27-year-old from their time together at Molineux two years ago.

But cash-strapped Wolves are demanding a figure to close to £45million, according to The Telegraph.

The non-league outfit set to receive an £8million sell-on fee is Maidenhead United.

Maidenhead sold Kilman to Wolves for £40,000 in 2018 and included a '15 to 20 per cent' sell on clause as a testament to his potential.

The Berkshire-based semi-professional outfit are currently members of the National League, the fifth tier of English football.

Kilman's current deal runs until 2028, with a big fee therefore set to be required from any interested club to complete a deal.

Newcastle United also reportedly interested in the former non-league star.

The Magpies reportedly offered a player-plus-cash offer involving young academy product Elliot Anderson moving to Wolves.

But this was rejected by Gary O'Neil's side.

Kilman joined Maidenhead from Welling United in 2015, before drawing Premier League attention in 2018.
