What’s better than Boots slashing the prices for their weekly £10 Tuesday? When it happens to also be payday week, of course. And this week shoppers have been rushing to stock up on an eye product that helps improve the appearance of dark circles from the first use.

The health and beauty chain have reduced the price of the No7 Laboratories Dark Circle Corrector from £24.99 to £10, saving beauty buffs almost 60 per cent off the RRP. However, anyone wanting to try it for themselves will have to be quick, as it will go back up to full price tomorrow.

The colour corrector comes in two shades, light/medium and medium/dark, though is not to be confused with a concealer which simply covers the problem area. Instead, the lightening technology targets the three causes of dark circles so skin appears firm, calm and less hyperpigmented, the Manchester Evening News reports.

The light diffusing particles and colour correcting pigments in each shade help to correct different skin undertones. The Light/Medium formula tackles blue and red undertones and the medium/dark product addresses red and brown undertones.

The clinically proven product has been created using hyaluronic acid to help visibly plump skin, and is said to have been formulated to reduce the appearance of dark circles by up to 30% delivering both fast, visible results and longer-term benefits over time.

The algae extract and rollerball applicator leaves your eyes feeling instantly soothed and cooled, which shoppers say makes them look more 'awake' and 'refreshed'. As such, its amassed more than 80 five-star reviews from beauty buffs who love how it 'smooths out' fine lines and wrinkles.

One Boots shopper said: "Fabulous under eye moisturiser with a light tint that goes on beautifully. The rollers in the top are wonderful for massaging around tired eyes. Once applied it smooths out fine lines and wrinkles and makes them look awake and refreshed. I would definitely recommend this to someone."

Another wrote: "It works exactly as it said it would. Friends have commented on how well I'm looking and asked was I using different makeup, nope, same makeup the only change is the corrector. My dark circles are no where near as visible after about four weeks of daily use....but started noticing a difference straight away. Easy to put on, still lots left in tube."

A third penned: "I have personally been using this product for over a year and a little goes a long way as I've just finished last year's purchase. With ageing skin and hormonal changes my dark circles have dramatically increased but upon applying this, I can honestly say they don't appear as prominent. I have tried other brands but with little success."

But one person did give the undereye correct a three-star review because they haven't 'noticed any improvement'. They wrote: "I have been using this for weeks now and cannot say I have noticed any improvement. My dark circles are inherited and don't think anything is ever going to shift them completely. I don't like the applicator either. Such a shame as I love No7 products usually. Will not buy again."

However another Boots shopper gave the No7 undereye corrector a full five out of five stars, adding: "Was very sceptical at first but then was pleasantly surprised and impressed by the difference in my under eye after I had applied this product. Definitely reduces darkness and brightens up the eyes, would buy again. Great product."

There are other colour correcting treatments on the market that do a similar job, such as the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Vanish that comes in at £26. It works to remove dark circles under eyes and hyperpigmentation from fair through to deep skin tones. A more budget-friendly option is the Makeup Revolution Eye Bright Under Eye Corrector. It costs £7.99 and is available at LookFantastic. Or there’s the Max Factor Miracle Pure Colour Correcting & Anti-Fatigue Eye Enhancer at Boots, which comes in four shades and costs £10.99.

But if you are looking for more of a traditional eye cream, the is a popular choice. Alternatively, you can shop the No7 Laboratories Dark Circle Corrector here for £10.
