Liam Gallagher has teased some exciting news.
The singer-songwriter, 51, was a member of world-famous rock band Oasis alongside his brother Noel Gallagher, 57, for more than a decade. Oasis haven't performed together since 2009, which is when they disbanded after Noel's departure.
There's long been rumours of a reunion. It was reported last week that the estranged siblings had been in the process of organising gigs at Wembley Stadium for this summer and there's also been rumours of gigs for next year.
Liam - who was part of the band Beady Eye following Noel's departure from Oasis - has now fuelled speculation over a potential reunion, telling fans on Tuesday that his plans for once his latest touring ends are a "secret," leading to some speculation that it's related to Oasis.
Liam was asked recently: "After the tour & festivals & you rest- what's the next big thing for you?" He responded: "It's a secret." He was asked by another fan: "Is Oasis ever going to come back?" Sharing his thoughts, Liam said: "I hope so."
UK's sexiest accents ranked & there's a new number one - how popular is yours? His comments come after it was reported by the Mirror just days ago that Liam and Noel had previously booked to perform at Wembley Stadium in London next month. The concerts for July 8 to 10 however are said to have later fell through.
A source told us: "An Oasis reunion has been hoped for for years. This year would have been the big moment, 30 years on from their debut album Definitely Maybe. But until now, no one has known how close Liam and Noel came to making it a reality.
"It doesn't get much closer than booking Wembley, and their teams were devastated when it all collapsed yet again. But the fact they made it to that point shows there's a will on both sides. The hope is it will be a case of not if, but when."
Liam teased months ago that there had been an offer for a tour. He told MOJO magazine in February: "We put an offer on the table for an Oasis thing - because we got offered it - and [Noel] said no. It was a big tour, a lot of money."
It comes after a fan was left mortified due to a horrific fall following Liam's Manchester concert. Concertgoer Lily Stroud took to social media to show the horrifying few moments when she was spotted losing control of her balance and tumbling down 27 stairs at the hotel where she was staying. Stroud, who'd been eager to watch former Oasis frontman Liam perform on his Definitely Maybe 30 Years tour in Manchester, was left feeling sore but later said she had the best time watching the singer perform on stage.
After posting the video, Lily reassured her followers, who were left concerned for her wellbeing. Although she hadn't managed to walk away from the situation completely unscathed, the social media content creator was left with bruises but thankfully no broken bones.
