A blaze is tearing through a nursery in London as flames engulf its roof.
The London Fire Brigade confirmed around 70 firefighters and ten fire engines had been sent to tackle a fire at a nursery in Winchmore Hill, Enfield.
In a statement, fire officials said: "Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters are tackling a fire at a nursery on Green Dragon Lane in Winchmore Hill.
"Half of the first floor and the roof of the building are alight. There are currently no reports of any injuries.
"The junction by Ridge Avenue and Green Dragon Lane is closed and people are advised to avoid the area where possible.
Woman in 20s dies in NY Day house fire horror as blaze tears through building"The Brigade's 999 Control Officers have taken 15 calls to the blaze. The Brigade was called at 1525. Fire crews from Southgate, Edmonton, Enfield and surrounding fire stations are at the scene.
"The cause of the fire is not known at this time."
In a later statement, the LFB added: "Half of the first floor and the roof of the building were alight. Around 25 people left the building safely before the Brigade arrived."
Station Commander Darren McTernan, who was at the scene, said: "Thankfully, there are currently no reports of any injuries. Crews worked incredibly hard in hot, difficult conditions to bring the fire under control.
"The fire was producing smoke in the local area and while we understand it's difficult on a warm day like today, we advised people to keep windows and doors closed where possible.
"The junction by Ridge Avenue and Green Dragon Lane remains closed, so please avoid the area. Crews are likely to remain on scene throughout the evening."
The Mirror has approached the London Ambulance Service and Metropolitan Police for comment.
