EastEnders star Perry Fenwick, who is known for playing Billy Mitchell, got together with an unexpected friend to enjoy the England game.

England fans around the world tuned in to watch the football team play against Slovenia on Tuesday. It ended with England fans booing loudly at the final whistle and turning their anger on Gareth Southgate as they chucked beer cups at him. Ahead of the game, which saw both teams come out with zero points, Perry met up with pal Ray Winstone to watch the match.

The BAFTA Award-nominated actor took to his Instagram page to share a picture of him and Perry standing in front of a flat-screen TV hanging on the wall. The England flag hung below as the two looked hopeful and crossed their arms while rocking matching football shirts.

Ray and Perry experimented with a few poses, with Ray sharing the results in the post. He captioned the post: "Me and little Perry Fenwick about to have it in Sicily come on [England flag]." Friends and fans rushed to the comment section to compliment the two, with Danny Dyer posting a heart and England flag emoji.

"Nice one Ray [thumbs up] let's have em it coming home," one user said while another posted: "Some stories between you two. Come on the boys." One follower commented: "Come on England! [England flag] I’ve got the victory cigar at the ready," before the game ended with a nil-nil.

Last year, Perry opened up about surviving a few near-death experiences. He said he almost didn’t live into his teens as incidents involving electric sockets and deadly falls could have taken him to an early grave. During his appearance on the podcast Where There’s A Will, There’s A Wake, he said: "From the age of none to ten, I think I spent quite a lot of that time in hospital. I electrocuted myself when I was three.

“I was playing with a bowl of soapy water on the rug, and I thought how interesting it would be to put those three fingers of mine in the water and put them in that plug hole in the wall. At this point, my mum is watching television and was aware of this ‘thing’ going right across to the other side of the room. Apparently, the palms of my hands were black for about six months after that.”

Recalling another incident, he said: “I fell off a bridge. We used to have an iron bridge near where I lived, and you used to have to do this dare where you walked over the arch of this bridge. I had a wobble, fell off of it, and it was about twenty-five to thirty feet."
