McDonald's has launched a brand new menu item today and fans are excited to try it.

The fast food chain has today launched its new Oreo Frappe across all of its UK and Republic of Ireland stores. The frappe has a vanilla base and is blended with ice and Oreo pieces and then topped with whipped cream and crushed Oreo pieces. The sweet treat will set you back £3.09, or £3.39 if you want a large.

McDonald's took to social media today to promote the new menu item. In a post to X - formerly Twitter - it said: "Perfect for a sunny day! Cool down with our Oreo Frappé! Made with a vanilla-flavoured base blended with ice and Oreo pieces, topped with cream and even more Oreo pieces. Perfect to keep you chillin' and sippin' all day long! Kick back and be Frappé!" However, the menu item won't be around for long so fans will have to be quick to try it. Under the current plan, the Oreo frappe will only be part of the Maccies menu until September 3.

Fans of the fast food chain shared their excitement on social media today. One said: "We will definitely have to try this" while another wrote: "Now this one I would try!!!" More shared their thoughts after trying the new item. One fan said: "Oreo frappe at McDonald’s good asf." Another added: "I go to McDonald’s just for the Oreo frappes." A third said: "McDonald’s has an Oreo frappe. Starbucks y’all need to step your game up." A fourth fan added: "McDonald’s got the Oreo frappe back!!! I’m excited!". Another fan shared a post on TikTok describing the new drink as "absolutely unreal".

However, with one new menu item added, another had to go and in this instance, it was the Biscoff Frappe. The Biscoff drink had a vanilla flavour base and was blended with ice and Biscoff crumb. It was then topped with caramel-flavoured cream and a crumb dusting. If you're a fan of the Biscoff drink you might be keen to try the caramel frappe which is a permanent addition to Maccies menus.
