Rylan Clark opened up about him and his mother's stint on Celebrity Gogglebox.
The presenter, 35, and his mum Linda are one of the Channel 4 show's most-loved duos and have been keeping viewers entertained since they joined the programme in 2019. Fans were thrilled to hear the duo would be back on TV together this summer after Linda took a break from the show following a nasty fall on holiday.
When she returned to the series, viewers called her a "national treasure" as she and Rylan caught up with the latest shows and movies. While walking the red carpet of the Pride Awards, Rylan revealed he and his mother continue to film for the show as he joked about how it's the 'one day of the week she gets her makeup done.'
The duo don't ask for anything specific in their hamper when filming the show as Rylan joked he'll take whatever the production crew give them. He added that his mum loved his show with Rob Rinder, Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour, which has the two travelling around Italy while following the footsteps of Lord Byron. During the series, were all about the shenanigans as they discussed their own broken hearts.
"She loved the show," Rylan said. "She just wants me to be happy." When asked about another series of the programme, he explained: "If we get a second series we will go somewhere else and we'll have a lovely time." Last week, fans slammed Rylan as they weren't happy with the presenter for continually correcting his mum over her pronunciation of some medication.
Strictly's Saffron Barker sparks romance rumours with Gogglebox starAt one point during a recent episode of Gogglebox, Rylan and his mum got into an argument about the medication Linda needed for her hay fever. Rylan corrected her pronunciation of the word antihistamine and continued to ask her to repeat it as they were watching TV.
"I'm not stupid, so stop trying to make it sound like I am!" she exclaimed after Rylan pointed out she was pronouncing the medication wrong. He hit back: "I'm not, I'm just trying to set you right. Antihistamine." Linda fumed: "But you knew what I was saying, didn't you?" Channel 4 viewers took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to defend the TV presenter's mum. One wrote: "Anyone else wish Rylan would stop humiliating his mum, mine would slap me if i kept doing it lol."
Another said: "I agree. It’s getting a bit excessive and it doesn’t feel like it’s nice for her," while a third tweeted: "Rylan never stops humiliating his poor mother. Why does she put up with it?"
