A CAGED vicious sex beast dubbed ‘The Shining Rapist’ has insisted he wants to swap gender.
Paedo David Smith, 37, said he is determined to have surgery to become female, wear prosthetic breasts and a wig — and be called Attila Taylor.
But jail bosses say there is no possibility of him ever being transferred to a women’s nick.
A Scottish Prison Service spokesman said: “No transgender woman with a history of violence against women and girls, who presents a risk to women, will be placed in the female estate.”
Smith, from Maryhill, Glasgow, is serving an order for lifelong restriction at the city’s tough Barlinnie nick after being jailed for eight rapes, trying to murder his pregnant ex-girlfriend with garden shears and an indecent assault on a five-year-old.

But in a series of whingeing phone calls, he told The Scottish Sun on Sunday: “The prison’s gender identity and reassignment policy clearly states things they have to allow me access to.
“That’s wigs, prosthetics and shaving equipment — and they have been trying to decline that at every possible opportunity.
“I just want the access to be able to live in the body of a female before I have the surgery.”
Smith blames trans double rapist Isla Bryson, 32 — sent to a women’s prison while waiting to stand trial — for making it harder for other trans cons.
He added: “I f****** hate people that come out as trans and then don’t go through with it.
“To me that is not a trans woman, that is not a woman at all. That is still a male.”
Smith claimed he first informed authorities of his desire to change gender in December 2022.
He added: “I have NHS records that show when I came out as trans. The prison are refusing to change my gender on the computer and until they do, I can’t apply for a gender recognition certificate, so I’ll never be classed as female, irrelevant to surgery.”
We told how Smith battered former girlfriend Ashleigh Stewart, then 29, — who waived her right to anonymity — with hedge cutters in 2018.
He chased her into the bathroom of his Glasgow flat before breaking through the door like Jack Nicholson’s deranged killer in 1980 horror film The Shining.

Ashleigh managed to run past him, then hurled herself from a fourth-floor window.
She suffered six broken ribs, collapsed lungs, a fractured skull and shattered breast bone in the fall.
Smith was convicted of 14 charges, including raping and attempting to murder her plus the repeated rape of another woman.
Judge Lord Kinclaven caged him in 2019 for at least five years and warned he may never be freed.
