"If it is still tender, use baby shampoo on it and gently massage the spot," the poster advised.

If you're focusing on re-growth, the Redditor recommended examining the ingredients on your shampoo bottle.

"To help with growth, use a biotin shampoo and conditioner, rosemary oil, or coconut oil to help with hydration," they said.

Medical professionals at the Cleveland Health Clinic explained the role of biotin in hair care.

"Biotin is an essential vitamin that helps with the production of keratin, a protein that’s in charge of forming nails, skin, and hair," they said.

The cosmetologist revealed an additional advantage of the hair oils.

"Massage the scalp with rosemary oil or coconut oil to help stimulate the hair follicles," the Reddit user said.

The Cleveland Health Clinic also spoke about the benefits of rosemary oil for hair growth.

“The bottom line is, yes, it does seem to work,” said Dr. Shilpi Khetarpal.

“A [recent] study really prompted people to look at rosemary oil for hair growth.

According to the professional, you should avoid trying to rearrange your hair to cover the bald spot.

"Don't brush over the thin area as it can irritate the scalp," they explained.

"Use a headband or beanie to help cover up or keep your hair parted to the side."

If you're struggling with thinning hair, the poster recommended avoiding hot showers.

"Do not use hot water on the area, use lukewarm water instead," they said.

The cosmetologist shared the advice with someone who had lost their hair in a fight but explained that it applies to all kids of hair loss.
