Tyjon has already been on Rovers’ first team bench and their plans to tie him down are boosted by the fact that he wants to play senior football for them first.

Blackburn picked up Tyjon from Rochdale and will demand the biggest fee possible amid fears United will come in hard for the teenager.

Rovers lost defender Ashley Phillips, 18, to Tottenham last season for just £2million.

But they did cash in on 20-year-old Adam Wharton when he went to Crystal Palace in January in a deal which could eventually be worth £22.5m.

Tyjon has also been tracked by both Palace and Brighton but signing for United may be too attractive an opportunity for him to resist.

Overy left Perth Glory when his family returned to England to live in Devon and is currently with Newton Abbot Spurs.

Hammers also invited Overy for talks after they saw him in a pre- season friendly last year while Everton also plan a move.
