Darren said: “With Girls Aloud coming back together this year and looking at their performances after having a long break from performing, it’s clear they have found their feet with their levels of confidence.

"They’ve grown a lot since they first started but we’ve seen a lot more humour and confidence come through.

"They’re feeling stronger than ever when we look at their in-sync movements and expressions of enjoyment on stage.

"Their interactions with each other are a lot more authentic and open, meaning they’re all in better places with each other connection-wise."

Cheryl ‘owns the room’ and ‘holds most dominance’

“CHERYL has always had a huge stage presence and the ability to own the room," says Darren.

"She feels comfortable putting herself out there and using her outgoing personality on and off stage.

"She holds a lot of dominance in the group. She actively displays a lot of confidence, she’s very vocal and wants to make her presence known.

"She’s also very good at championing the other girls and boosting their levels of inner strength and confidence.

"What’s good about Cheryl’s confidence is that she’s able to relax and have fun on stage.

"Whether it be her dancing, making jokes with the girls or even having banter and interacting with fans - nothing fazes her at all.”

Kimberley flashes signals of ‘fear’

“KIMBERLEY is a confident woman and likes to take control when it’s her turn to sing solo," Darren says.

"But there are times when the others will appear stronger. She can often flash nerves during performances.

"You could see instances of Nicola boosting her confidence by putting her arms around her and performing together as a pair.

"During one performance, Kimberley flashes a few micro-expressions of fear, but the girls soon rallied around and they all came together.

"This shows the levels of support they all have for each other when one of them appears to be feeling out of their depth.

"It’s clear they have a strong respect for one another, which continues to grow through everything they approach as a group.

"They work together as a team and want to build each other up. They are definitely stronger than ever as a group.”

Nadine shows expressions of ‘frustration’ on stage

“DURING one show this year, we saw Nadine step in for Cheryl when she struggled with her lyrics," explained Darren.

"It’s clear Nadine has an altruistic personality - which is when someone is sensitive and really cares about other people by doing anything they can do to support them.

"When she did step in, it came across effortlessly and in her nature to do so.

"However, when Nadine messed up on one of her lyrics during one of the other shows, the group laughed it off - but Nadine displayed expressions of frustration and anger.

"This tells us she cares a lot about doing things correctly and she feels particularly uncomfortable when she makes mistakes.

"Nadine comes across as very passionate as an individual. She’s fiery and dominant.”

Nicola's ‘closed off’ gestures show she's ‘most reserved'

“IN terms of who is the most reserved out of the group, I believe Nicola is," Darren adds.

"Her body language gestures are more closed and less open than what we see from Cheryl, Nadine and Kimberley.

"Her eye contact and facial expressions aren’t as strong and consistent.

"However, she is able to perform and she comes across as very extroverted on stage, which tells us she’s able to channel her nerves and turn those feelings into excitement.

"When she’s in social situations, she actively takes a step back. We also see her biting her lip or folding her arms, which tells us she’s trying to distance herself from the situation she’s in as she’s feeling nervous.”
